GreenTwig offers courses for people to learn in a group setting. We call these courses Titus 2, and we have written a book for each course.
Important subjects converge in each class: Biblical Teaching, Common Roadblocks and The Virtues of Jesus which bear beautiful fruit.
Confidentiality embraced by all participants creates an atmosphere in which struggles can be shared openly. Empathy and a sense of community grow quickly in these groups.
Classes
In this class we explore two questions: “What is true of virtue itself?” and “What are the major characteristics of each virtue and its corresponding vices?
Virtue-vice thinking has shaped our Christian faith to a huge degree. We have discovered that we are far less virtuous than we wanted to believe! We hope you will experience similar shaping. In the past, participants have enjoyed feeling safe in an environment where sensitive, vulnerable subjects are discussed. So we invite you to love others by keeping things confidential.
In marriage, sexual intimacy ought to symbolize soul-to-soul intimacy. God designed soul intimacy to be the foundation for sexual intimacy. Both soul and sexual intimacy ought to blossom in the freedom of Christ’s virtues.
Couples often choose this class because they have learned that soul intimacy is hard to maintain and because they want a safe “place” to talk about sexual concerns openly and respectfully.
The U.S. is a shame culture without knowing it. What we call problems of insecurity and self-esteem, the Bible calls shame. We juxtapose shame with its opposing vice-pride and with its opposing virtue-humility. The Christ message speaks eloquently to the subject of shame.
Who chooses this class? People who know that shame blocks them from relating more freely and lovingly. People who may not know the shame that they live with, but
Retreats & Training
Groups may invite us to coach them in a retreat setting. In the past we have taught on soul and sexual intimacy, shame resilience, listening well, virtues, faculties of the soul, Song of Songs, Proverbs.
